The global coronavirus pandemic has forced athletes away from team facilities for the past two months, leaving professional athletes essentially on their own to stay in shape until a potential return to competition.
When it came to the NBA, not every player had access to a basketball court at their homes — even Steph Curry had to order his own hoop for his driveway. But I guess teams should have been concerned about players working out without supervision of a training staff too because Lonzo Ball definitely could use some help.
This week, Ball posted a video of him working out from the Big Baller Brand estate, and just about everything from the video would have the Pelicans strength staff cringe.
Y’ALL KNOW WHERE LONZO BEEN 🗣 (via @ZO2_) pic.twitter.com/VBqVIgRzHh

The obvious issues: Lonzo’s range of motion is absolutely off. His back and posture are terrible for this movement. And he’s losing wrist stability — snapping his wrist at the top of the movement. None of this is ideal for a basketball player. And given that Lonzo posted it to social media as if it was a good thing, fans could not get over this terrible form.
it’s crazy that a professional athlete is this bad at lifting weights https://t.co/Qg74E6lLOz

Never thought I’d see anything as busted as Lonzos shot until I saw him lift weights 😳 https://t.co/nYucjmW0b0

Doing 0 proper reps with too much weight and screaming into the camera is exactly how I expected a Lonzo Ball lift session to go https://t.co/J0DCvc2ohf

His form makes me sad. The strength and conditioning coaches for the Pelicans and even Lakers should feel ashamed. This is how players get injured and lose millions of dollars.
Also, wasn’t Lavar a personal trainer?? https://t.co/j1YxpFg4rT

Now all those Lonzo injuries are starting to make a lot more sense. Someone fix his form, please.
