The closer we get to the 2023 NFL draft, the more it seems like an early run on quarterbacks is inevitable. Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud, Anthony Richardson and Will Levis could all potentially be drafted before the Atlanta Falcons are on the clock at pick No. 8.
One name to watch is Georgia defensive lineman Jalen Carter, who’s considered a top-five talent but may not go in the top five. Pro Football Focus has Carter rated as the No. 2 prospect on their big board. Despite his recent off-the-field controversy, Carter is declining pre-draft visits with teams outside of the top 10.

Overall, the Falcons are in much better shape at the defensive tackle position than they were a year ago. Atlanta signed David Onyemata in free agency, Eddie Goldman returned following a one-year retirement, and don’t forget Grady Jarrett — the team’s best defensive player over the last five seasons.
Still, a versatile talent like Carter may be too tempting for Atlanta to pass on. If Carter is available at pick No. 8, should the Falcons draft him? Tell us what you think by voting in our fan poll below!
