Falcons to start rookie RB Tyler Allgeier in Week 5

Falcons rookie Tyler Allgeier will replace Cordarrelle Patterson as the team’s starting running back in Week 5.

The Atlanta Falcons must get through the next four weeks without Cordarrelle Patterson after the running back was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury.

Stepping in for Patterson is rookie Tyler Allgeier, the team’s fifth-round pick out of BYU. In Week 4, Allgeier had 10 carries for 84 rushing yards (8.4 yards per carry) and one catch for 20 receiving yards.

It won’t all be on Allgeier’s shoulders, though, the Falcons will also look to Avery Williams and Caleb Huntley. Check out Atlanta’s updated starting lineups for Week 5.
