The Atlanta Falcons were dealt another tough hand when the NFL released this year’s schedule on Thursday night.

On top of playing in perhaps the league’s most competitive division, Atlanta will face off against several elite quarterbacks, including five sure-fire Hall of Famers.

Patrick Mahomes, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, Drew Brees, Matthew Stafford and Dak Prescott are just a few of the names on the team’s regular-season slate.

In Touchdown Wire‘s feature examining the strength of schedule for each team in 2020, the Falcons were tied with the Lions for the fifth-toughest in the NFL this season:

Dan Quinn gets another year, and he gets a rugged schedule as he tries to bring the Dirty Birds back to life in the NFC South.
SOS: .525, 134-121-1

Strength of schedule is based solely on the results of the previous season, and as we all know, the entire landscape of the league can change from year to year. Looking at the rest of the NFC South, the Falcons have by far the toughest S.O.S. in the division.

The Panthers are tied for 18th (SOS: .500), the Bucs are tied for 16th (SOS: .502), and the Saints are 24th (SOS: .490).

Make sure to check out our game-by-game predictions piece, which has Atlanta finishing 10-6 this season.
