Running back Todd Gurley recorded his first 100-yard rushing game of the season on Sunday during the Falcons’ 23-16 loss to the Carolina Panthers. With head coach Dan Quinn and general manager Thomas Dimitroff getting fired, though, Gurley’s big Week 5 performance was somewhat overlooked.
On just 14 rushing attempts, Gurley went for 121 yards and a touchdown on 8.6 yards per carry. That was enough for the former Georgia standout to win this week’s FedEx Ground Player of the Week.
Todd Gurley has been named NFL Ground Player of the Week.

Gurley has bee steady this season, but the Falcons’ defensive limitations hasn’t allowed the former All-Pro RB to touch the ball as much as the team would like.
For the season, Gurley has rushed 79 times for 375 yards (4.7 Y.P.A.) and five touchdowns, while adding eight catches for 38 receiving yards. Check out his 35-yard touchdown run against the Panthers in Week 5 below.
