With Russell Gage reportedly leaving for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Calvin Ridley suspended for the entire 2022 season, the Falcons’ wide receiver room is in rough shape.
It appears the team is at least trying to retain Olamide Zaccheaus, placing a $2.43 million “right-of-first refusal” tender on the wideout on Tuesday.

A right-of-first-refusal tender means that if any team wishes to sign Zaccheaus, the Falcons will have a chance to match the offer. Additionally, no compensatory picks will be granted if Zaccheaus bolts in free agency.
As things currently stand, Zaccheaus is the team’s top receiving option under any form of control. Since the Falcons’ other receivers are Frank Darby, Austin Trammell, Chad Hansen, and Brayden Lenius, expect the team to make some moves.
Atlanta gave kicker Younghoe Koo a five-year extension, but the team is losing both Russell Gage (Buccaneers) and linebacker Foye Oluokun (Jaguars) in free agency.
