The Atlanta Falcons have added another explosive piece to their backfield by selecting Texas running back Bijan Robinson with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft.
Robinson rushed for 1,575 yards and 18 touchdowns (6.1 yards per carry) for the Longhorns in 2022, with 19 receptions for 314 receiving yards.
An early run on quarterbacks left the team with a few options, including Georgia’s Jalen Carter, Oregon’s Christian Gonzalez and Northwestern’s Peter Skoronski.
Instead, the team adds the best running back in the draft — and arguably of the last five years — to a backfield that already included Cordarrelle Patterson and Tyler Allgeier.
Atlanta’s next pick is No. 44 on Friday evening when the draft resumes for Rounds 2-3. Check out there remaining picks below.
