After addressing the quarterback position nine slots earlier, the Atlanta Falcons added Western Kentucky linebacker DeAngelo Malone in the third round of the 2022 NFL draft on Friday.
Malone was the 82nd overall pick and while he isn’t well known among the fans, the young edge rusher had 17.5 tackles for a loss, eight sacks and four forced fumbles last season.

“Malone is a one-trick sub-package rusher who can bring some juice to any NFL team’s pass rush,” writes Pro Football Focus of its 89th-ranked prospect. “He racked up 180 pressures in his career at Western Kentucky.”
