The Atlanta Falcons had a tough season, finishing 7-10 for the second year in a row and missing the playoffs for a fifth straight season. While the team’s struggles were to be expected, Atlanta made incredible progress in the ground game.
The Falcons rushed for 2,718 yards in 2022, averaging 159.9 yards per game and 4.9 yards per carry. More importantly, the success of the running game gave this team a much-needed identity.
Right guard Chris Lindstrom led the way as Atlanta physically dominated its opponents up front. Lindstrom wasn’t voted into the NFLPA Players’ All-Pro Team, but the fourth-year lineman finished 2022 as Pro Football Focus‘ highest-rated player.
