The only perfect prospect ranking as a quarterback belongs to Vince Young. It is well documented what he meant to the Texas Longhorns after signing with them in 2002. He ranks as the No. 1 prospect of all-time according to the 247Sports composite board. Landing him changed the trajectory for Texas.

As the top recruit in the country, Young was the target of Florida State and Louisiana State as well as Texas. Another big-name program after Young was the University of Miami (Florida). The Hurricanes were coming off a national championship in 2001 and a return to the game in 2002. At the time, Miami was one of the top programs in college football.

Greg Davis and Mack Brown were able to persuade Young to stay home in Texas and play for the Longhorns. He led the team to a 12-1 record and defeated Michigan in the Rose Bowl. Vince led them back to the Rose Bowl in 2005 to secure the BCS national championship.
