Ex-UCLA guard Ilane Fibleuil joins French team

Ilane Fibleuil back to France.

The UCLA Bruins basketball roster looks much different than it did a few months ago. Ilane Fibleuil, the former Bruins guard, has found a new home overseas.

He has joined Poitiers Basket 86 in France, per the team’s official social media account. Andy Thornton-Jones, the team’s coach, reacted to the addition of the talented 18-year-old:

“Ilane is one of the major players of the 2005 generation. He joins us after a season spent at UCLA in the NCAA. We are delighted that he trusts us for the start of his professional career.”

Fibleuil played in 25 games for UCLA this past season, averaging just 1.0 PTS with 1.5 rebounds in very limited minutes. Now, he goes back to France, where he is from, and will look to earn a bigger role going forward.

The release states that he is signed until 2025, so it will be interesting to see if he can improve back in France this upcoming season.
