The Tennessee Titans made a flurry of moves on Tuesday in order to bolster their running backs room in the wake of running back Derrick Henry’s injury — and linebacker Avery Williamson was one of the casualties.
Tennessee made a grand total of five moves on its practice squad, two of which involved the signings of running backs Adrian Peterson and D’Onta Foreman.
However, the Titans had to make room on their 53-man roster, and did so by waiving Williamson, who had signed with the team about three weeks ago.
Williamson, who didn’t play a single defensive snap in his brief return to Nashville, took getting waived in stride.
Damn…I got fired on my day off 😂

It was a bit surprising that Williamson didn’t get a chance to play. After all, the Titans were dealing with multiple injuries at the position. In Week 8, the Titans decided to roll with rookie Monty Rice instead of Williamson when Rashaan Evans was ruled out.
Whatever the case may be, perhaps the Titans will re-add Williamson to the practice squad at some point. For now, his second stint in Nashville is over.
