Diontae Johnson’s wish came true today after the struggling Carolina Panthers sent him to the Pittsburgh Steelers’ biggest rival — the Baltimore Ravens.
According to Dianna Russini of “The Athletic,” Baltimore was just one of many teams interested in Johnson’s services.
The Ravens only needed to surrender a fifth-round pick and will receive a sixth-round pick back from the Panthers, who also covers a portion of Johnson’s contract.
Pittsburgh sent the disgruntled receiver — their most productive since Antonio Brown — to the Panthers this offseason. With Carolina failing in all facets of the game, Johnson has managed just 357 yards and three scores.
Unfortunately, the Steelers now must face Johnson and the Ravens two more times during the regular season.
