Ex-Giants LB Spencer Paysinger’s Super Bowl XLVI ring stolen

Retired New York Giants LB Spencer Paysinger revealed on Saturday that his Super Bowl XLVI ring has been stolen.

Former New York Giants linebacker Spencer Paysinger had an incredibly eventful rookie season in 2011, going from undrafted free agent to Super Bowl XLVI champion in what felt like a blink of an eye.

Paysinger would spend three more seasons with the Giants after that, eventually moving onto the Miami Dolphins, New York Jets and Carolina Panthers before retiring in 2017.

In total, Paysinger appeared in 91 career games, recording 224 tackles, two forced fumbles, one sack and four passes defensed, but was never able to recapture that 2011 magic and return to the Big Game.

Unfortunately for Paysinger, even that memory is now tainted.

Paysinger revealed on Saturday morning that his home was burglarized on March 17 and that his Super Bowl ring was among the items stolen. Making matters worse, his insurance payment had lapsed, so not only was his ring taken, but he was unable to recoup any of its value.

In a clearly emotional Instagram post, Paysinger made a plea to the thieves to return his ring without the risk of being arrested or facing any other consequences.

On March 17th 2019, my home was burglarized. With the 17th being one of the first genuinely hot days of the year, I took my family out for the day not realizing I left a window cracked from airing out mold I’d been drying out from a few weeks of rain. We came home and realized the window screen was off to which I immediately ran into the house, scared, hoping to catch them in the act (I know). The two young men ended up stealing computers, purses, electronics and unfortunately my Super Bowl XLVI ring. I took it out recently for an elementary school Career Day and was lazy on returning to it’s secure location. The real kicker is my yearly insurance payment lapsed the month before due to getting new credit cards and not updating the autopay. I’ve debated posting this since the night it happened but honestly, I’m tired of waking up with it being the first thing on my mind while also the reason keeping me up at night. My Super Bowl ring should serve as a cherished family heirloom not an unfortunate event. If you’re reading this or if anyone knows the two young men in the video, please be assured there are no consequences tied to this post. This isn’t bait, there are no cops involved and nothing will happen to you by giving back my ring; keep the other shit. All I want is peace of mind and to understand your circumstance in hopes that it will spell the next family from our experience.

Hopefully someone out there can recognize the two thieves or is aware of the ring’s location so that Paysinger can get back the hardware he most certainly earned and deserves to have back in his possession.
