Ex-Georgia CB Jalen Kimber transfers to UGA rival

Jalen Kimber joins the enemy.

Earlier this week, cornerback Jalen Kimber announced he would be transferring from Georgia and entering the NCAA transfer portal.

A few days later and Kimber has made it known that he will be transferring to the Florida Gators, Georgia’s biggest rival.

Kimber, a redshirt freshman, was Georgia’s projected starter at the position during the offseason but battled an injury that eventually required season-ending surgery.

Kimber came to Georgia as a four-star cornerback in the class of 2020. Running a 4.4 40-yard dash and has a 42-inch vertical jump, the athleticism is certainly there for an SEC cornerback.  Kimber enrolled early as a freshman.

The Mansfield, Texas, native played in three of Georgia’s games in 2020. He recorded one tackle.
