The rocky road continues for former Browns starting safety Damarious Randall. The veteran is being released by the Las Vegas Raiders before ever taking the field in an actual game for his new team.
The news of Randall being dumped by the Raiders was first reported by NFL.com’s Mike Garafolo.
Randall started 26 games for the Browns in 2018-2019 after being acquired in a trade from Green Bay for QB DeShone Kizer. His first season in Cleveland went very well but he fell off considerably last year, including five missed games with a concussion.
He signed with the Raiders quickly in free agency, but he failed to impress the Jon Gruden coaching staff. Randall was expected to fill the hole left by fellow safety Karl Joseph leaving in free agency. Joseph ironically wound up taking Randall’s old spot in Cleveland and is a lock to see considerable action for the Browns in 2020.
