After being fired by the Broncos last week, offensive coordinator Rich Scangarello might land on his feet quickly.
Scangarello will interview with the Browns for their open offensive coordinator position, according to a report from Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com. Scangarello will be interviewing to potentially join the staff of new head coach Kevin Stefanski, who was hired last week.
Scangarello comes from the Kyle Shanahan coaching tree and spent just one year as Denver’s offensive coordinator before being fired. Broncos coach Vic Fangio replaced Scangarello with Pat Shurmur, who served as the Giants’ head coach from 2018-2019.
After firing quarterbacks coach T.C. McCartney, Denver might target former Giants offensive coordinator/QBs coach Mike Shula. New York has hired former Cowboys coach Jason Garrett to be their new offensive coordinator, which means Shula won’t return for the 2020 season.
Shula coached under Shurmur with the Giants over the last two years. He is the son of Don Shula, the winningest coach in NFL history.
