Everything we know following Oregon’s 78-49 loss to No. 12 Houston

Oregon was routed for the second straight day with a 78-49 loss to Houston.

When Dana Altman agreed to enter his team into the Maui Invitational, he probably figured the Ducks would be competitive and have a chance to win the entire tournament.

As it turns out, Oregon bit off a lot more than they could chew at this point of the season. For the second consecutive day, the Ducks were shown the door as Houston routed them 78-49.

It’s been a few days for the Ducks, who have lost 3 of their last four with three blowouts and the only win coming against Division II Chaminade.

Oregon will need to use the Thanksgiving break to get down to basics and perhaps play others a lot more such as center Isaac Johnson. But overall, it’s not just a physical thing the Ducks need to overcome. It’s a mental thing too as Will Richardson, Quincy Guerrier, and De’Vion Harmon, among others, are just not playing to their capability individually or as a team.

The first chance for improvement will come on Monday, Nov. 29 as the Ducks host Montana.
