Everything Texas QB Quinn Ewers said during his first media session

Ewers discussed a variety of topics on Thursday.

It’s not often that a school gets a second chance to land one of the best recruits in the country, let alone one of the highest ranked recruits ever.

Texas was able to do just that when it came to their new quarterback Quinn Ewers, who transferred from Ohio State after forgoing his senior season of high school to cash in on major NIL deals.

Now that Ewers got his money, he wants a legitimate chance to play. He likely wasn’t going to get that at Ohio State in the near future, as C.J. Stroud shined in his first season as the starter.

Ewers’ decision to transfer to Texas was one that Longhorns fans were clamoring for all along, but now that he is on campus he is amidst an intense quarterback battle with Hudson Card.

Based on reports and Steve Sarkisian’s reviews, both quarterbacks have been doing well so far through the spring, but right now the only thing holding Ewers back is the lack of familiarity with the offense. For those expecting Ewers to win the job, that is as good of a sign as any, as the more time Ewers accumulates in the offense the better he will get.

Both quarterbacks spoke with the media today, but this marks the first time Ewers has been able to be interviewed. Here were his most intriguing answers.
