Every Texas Longhorns passing leader since 2000

A look at Texas’ passing leaders for each season since 2000. How many can you name?

Texas has had several elite quarterbacks come through the Forty Acres over the years.

Many are quick to remember the golden days of Vince Young and Colt McCoy, but there was also a rough patch of inconsistent play at the position once the two stars departed for the NFL.

Sam Ehlinger finally brought consistency to the position when he joined the roster in 2017. Although Ehlinger was unable to lead Texas to a Big 12 title, he at least brought them to the conference championship game in 2018 and broke several school records throughout his collegiate career.

The Longhorns once again suffered another down year last season with the mixture of Casey Thompson and Hudson Card under center. Since then, Steve Sarkisian has brought in former five-star quarterback Quinn Ewers via the transfer portal from Ohio State.

Longhorns Wire took a look at Texas’ passing leaders for each season since 2000. Many of the signal-callers on this list have made a significant impact for Texas and will be remembered for years to come.

Will Ewers be next?
