The Lions have seen Matthew Stafford is the quarterback for much of the run between 2009 and now. The former No. 1 overall pick from Georgia has made 149 starts. In the Stafford window, others who have filled in are David Blough, Jeff Driskel, Shaun Hill, Drew Stanton and Daunte Culpepper. From 2006-08, Jon Kitna made 36 starts. The rest went to Dan Orlovsky and Culpepper. Joey Harrington got the call 55 times from ’02-05. Jeff Garcia and Mike McMahon filled in the rest. In 2001, the trio of Charlie Batch, Ty Detmer and McMahon filled the position.
