With a big recruiting weekend upon us for the Oklahoma Sooners, we continue our look into their recruiting history. On Sunday one of the top players for the 2023 recruiting class is expected to commit. Malachi Nelson is expected to pledge to the Sooners and that could send a ripple effect through the entire class for ’23.
Nelson is a five-star quarterback ranked inside the top five in the nation. Over the history of the Sooners, primarily under Bob Stoops and Lincoln Riley, the team has recruited well. They have plenty of notable names that were five-star commits to the program. In the current recruiting cycle, their lone five-star player is Luther Burden of Illinois. He is currently committed to OU and is the No. 1 wide receiver in the country.
