ESPN’s top announcing crew (and dog) will call 2nd Texas game in a row

Not only is ESPN College GameDay in Austin for the Georgia vs. Texas heavyweight clash, but ABC’s top announcing team will call the game.

Disney is taking over Austin for the weekend. ESPN’s College GameDay will kickoff the weekend with its popular preview show, which will include a guest picker with Longhorns ties, on Saturday morning on the UT campus. The premier F1 race in America will be held at Austin’s Circuit of The Americas on Sunday. ESPN is the TV network for the race.

Sandwiched in between on Saturday night will be No. 5 Georgia at No. 1 Texas. It is the biggest game of the weekend, if not the season.

The gravity of the game means ABC/ESPN will be rolling out the A-Team for the game. Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit will be in the booth at DKR for the Bulldogs visit to Austin. The crew will include Holly Rowe and Laura Rutledge on the sidelines.

Herbstriet will even be making an apperance on Friday in Austin if you want to meet him and his dog Ben.

This will be the second Texas game in a row for Fowler and Herbstreit. The duo was on hand at the Cotton Bowl last Saturday for the Horns blowout of Red River rival Oklahoma.

Fowler and Herbstreit have been ESPN’s top crew for a long time, calling the last ten national title games in a row together.

Georgia at Texas kicks off at 6:30 p.m. CT Saturday night on ABC.
