ESPN’s Stanford Steve & The Bear give their opinion on Florida-Georgia odds

ESPN’s Stanford Steve & The Bear discuss their bets for Week 8 of the season, including Saturday’s Florida vs Georgia game.

The Florida Gators will take on the Georgia Bulldogs in the latest edition of their historic rivalry. Our friends at BetMGM currently have the ‘Dawgs as a 22.5-point favorite.

While jarring at first glance, the large gambling spread makes sense when you consider the different spots these programs are in. Georgia is coming off a national championship with a defense that saw eight defensive players defeated, five of which went in the 1st round. Florida fired Dan Mullen soon after losing last year’s Georgia game and hired Billy Napier to rebuild its program. While Napier has had success off the field (recruiting, opening new facilities, etc), the result on the field has been inconsistent.

ESPN’s Stanford Steve & The Bear, the worldwide leader’s gambling experts, have taken the difference between the two teams and have strong opinions on what you should do if you’re going to bet on the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party.

Favorites have won and covered six of the past seven meetings. This is the third-biggest spread in the rivalry behind Florida -34 in 1996 and Florida -23.5 in 1995 (the Gators won and covered both).

If the Gators want to pull off an upset, they’re going to need Georgia to make some mistakes throughout the game. Despite the recent talks of the game potentially leaving Jacksonville in the future, the game will be played in Duval County for at least the next two seasons. Saturday’s game will kick off at 3:30 p.m. EDT. The game will be broadcast on CBS Sports.
