ESPN released its latest Football Power Index, which includes updated percentages for teams to win the national championship.
The FPI lists the Texas Longhorns as the team with the best chance (27.2%) to win the national championship. Notre Dame has the second-best chance (20.2%) at winning the national championship, in front of Ohio State and Georgia.
Oregon, the No. 1 seed, has a 7.7% chance, according to ESPN’s playoff predictor, likely because it would probably have to play both Ohio State and Texas.
Texas, Notre Dame and Ohio State also come in with recent momentum. All three teams won their respective first-round games in blowout fashion. Georgia has the fourth-best odds at 12.9%. Georgia will have to try to win a national title with starting quarterback Carson Beck injured.
