ESPN projects Raiders will finish with the No. 8 pick in 2024 NFL Draft

The Raiders are 3.5-point home favorites in Week 6 over the New England Patriots. With a win, it means that the Raiders can get back to .500 with a record of 3-3 after six games. Considering how the season started, that would be quite an accomplishment for Las Vegas.

However, not everyone is convinced that the Raiders will be contenders in the AFC this season. In fact, most believe the opposite.

In a recent article by ESPN, they used their Football Power Index (FPI) to predict where each team will end up picking in the 2024 NFL Draft. And according to their numbers, they predict that the Raiders will finish with the No. 8 pick in next year’s draft.

Here is the full set of predictions and odds for the draft spot of the Raiders in 2024:

Average draft position: 9.8
FPI chance to earn No. 1 pick: 2.1%
FPI chance to earn top-five pick: 23.2%
FPI chance to earn top-10 pick: 59.3%

The Raiders have about a one-in-four chance of winding up with a top-five pick in next year’s draft, according to ESPN’s numbers. If that’s the case, you can bet that the Raiders will be selecting a quarterback with that pick.

But with a very favorable schedule coming up for Las Vegas, it wouldn’t be a shock to see them stay in the hunt in the AFC. If that’s the case, it’s going to be awfully hard for them to wind up with a top-five pick in next year’s draft.
