For the second year in a row, it looks like Dana Altman and the Oregon Ducks are going to have to find a replacement for the top assistant coach.
According to a report from ESPN, and later confirmed by The Oregonian’s James Crepea, Chris Crutchfield is finalizing a deal to return to his alma mater, the Omaha Mavericks, as the new head coach.
This comes just a year after the Ducks lost top assistant coach Tony Stubblefield, who left Eugene to become the head coach at DePaul. Crutchfield joined Altman’s staff at Oregon last April. As part of his contract, Crutchfield signed for three years worth $375,000 annually, and he will not owe UO a buyout.
