ESPN has OU-Texas as Oklahoma’s most difficult game of 2020 season

Even with the Texas state fair being cancelled, Oklahoma is in for another big-time game on the Red River.

ESPN recently chose the most difficult game on each Top 25 team’s schedule, and the Sooners’ was unsurprisingly their rival Texas.

Oklahoma has won four of the past five Red River Rivalries, but only by an average of five points. Nearly every contest has come down to the wire.

Next season, Texas will yet again be led by Sam Ehlinger, who is now a senior. It will be his fourth season with the Longhorns, and third with the starting role locked down. He’s played in 36 games so far.

Oklahoma will be restocking several offensive and defensive weapons, but so far, head coach Lincoln Riley has found a way. The Sooners will be missing leading receiver CeeDee Lamb, standout linebacker Kenneth Murray, consistent DL Neville Gallimore and Heisman runner-up Jalen Hurts.

Riley will have his work cut out for him getting new faces ready for their matchup with the Longhorns on October 10, and the game will almost surely send the winner’s name in playoff contention.
