ESPN gives Raiders just a 1 percent chance to make postseason

Antonio Pierce has done an excellent job of studying the ship for the Raiders. After a rough start to the season, the Raiders are 5-5 and still in the AFC playoff hunt.

But with a very difficult schedule ahead of them, what are the chances that the Raiders can actually make the postseason? Not very good. According to ESPN, the Raiders have just a one percent chance to make the playoffs this season. Here is why the site doesn’t really believe in this Las Vegas team moving forward:

Interim coach Antonio Pierce seemed to bring some juice to the Raiders in his first game, earning a lopsided win over the Giants. But taking over this team would be a tall task for any coach. Las Vegas is very much a work in progress, even with All-Pro receiver Davante Adams still on the roster.

In order for the Raiders to make the postseason, they are going to need to upset some pretty good teams over the next month. That includes the Dolphins, Chiefs, and Vikings. They don’t need to win them all, but they need to steal a few before they get to Week 17.

The final two games of the season (at Colts, vs. Broncos) are very winnable games, but the Raiders need to go at least 3-2 over the next five games to give themselves a chance. As good as Antonio Pierce has been this season, that seems like a tall task.
