ESPN ‘College GameDay’ heads to Austin for Texas vs. Georgia

ESPN has announced Austin will be the site of “College GameDay” on Saturday to preview No. 1 Texas Longhorns vs. No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs.

Now that the Texas Longhorns have dispatched Red River rival Oklahoma, all eyes point to Austin for Saturday’s clash with the Georgia Bulldogs.

The No. 5 Bulldogs topped Mississippi State, 41-31, on Saturday. Georgia’s only loss was a Week 5 heartbreaker to the Alabama Crimson Tide. The Bulldogs could move up in the rankings with No. 2 Ohio State’s loss to Oregon.

The hype this week will be crazy. Georgia’s trip to Austin was circled the minute it was announced by the SEC office. Last week, it was announced the game would be a prime-time clash. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m. ET/6:30 p.m. CT.

Now, ESPN has announced its popular “College GameDay” show will be in Austin to kick off the college football day. Rece Davis, in his 10th season as GameDay host, will be joined by analysts Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee and Nick Saban. College football insider Pete Thamel, betting expert “Stanford Steve” Coughlin and reporters Jen Lada and Jess Sims will all be on hand. It is unknown if Lee Corso, who missed the last two weeks, will be in Austin.

Fresh off calling Texas’ blowout of Oklahoma, ABC/ESPN’s top announcing of Chris Fowler and Herbstreit will call the game. They’ll be joined by sideline reporters Holly Rowe and Laura Rutledge.
