Every week ESPN’s College GameDay goes to a campus for the biggest game, and they will be on hand Saturday night when Texas A&M hosts Notre Dame.
They also have a guest picker from the school, and on Thursday they announced that former Aggies Heisman winner [autotag]Johnny Manziel[/autotag] will have that role. He burst on the scene as a redshirt freshman in 2012, winning the bronze trophy along with the Manning Award, and the Davey O’Brien Award.
Manziel would continue to dominate the competition in 2013, but couldn’t take home the hardware he did the previous season. He’d get drafted No. 22 overall by the Cleveland Browns, but never played like he did in college.

Troubles within the Browns organization led to them releasing him in March of 2016, the last time he’d suit up for an NFL team. He’d bounce around the CFL, Alliance of American Football and Fan Controlled Football.
While Manziel didn’t have a good professional career, he was a great collegiate quarterback and will return home to make picks on Saturday morning.
