On Wednesday, ESPN College Basketball analyst Seth Greenberg visited the Alabama basketball team’s practice. He tweeted about the pace at practice and mentioned two players in particular: Brandon Miller and Noah Clowney.
This doesn’t come as much of a surprise considering how well Miller and Clowney played in the tour overseas as well as in this weekend’s closed scrimmage against TCU. These two will likely be very instrumental to the team’s success this season.
Clowney possesses great length and size at 6-foot-10, 210 pounds. Head coach Nate Oats and the rest of the staff are expecting big things from the South Carolina native during his freshman campaign. When Greenberg spoke about Clowney, he said, “Noah Clowney is a big-time prospect. Clowney has great hands, a motor, and plays with an edge.”
Those are hefty compliments for an incoming freshman that hasn’t played up to this point. On the other hand, Greenberg went on to rave about McDonald’s All-American Brandon Miller. Greenberg compared Miller to Pelicans forward Brandon Ingram. Considering Ingram is one of the more elite forwards in the league should be a promising sign of Miller’s potential.
The Alabama basketball team will kick their season off on Nov. 7 against the Longwood Lancers. It will be interesting to see the role these two play and how they develop over the course of the season.
