Eric Musselman, Hogs, land fourth player from transfer portal in former Cincy guard

Arkansas lost four guards to the NBA Draft. Eric Musselman has replaced them four guards via the transfer portal.

Arkansas basketball will certainly look different in 2023-24.

The Razorbacks picked up a fourth commitment from the transfer portal this offseason as former Cincinnati wing Jeremiah Davenport will join coach Eric Musselman’s team next season.

Davenport averaged just over nine points and four rebounds for the Bearcats. He mostly served as the team’s sixth man, though he started the team’s first third of the season. At 6-foot-7 and 210 pounds, Davenport will help bring Arkansas more size on the wings, something they lacked during their Sweet 16 run.

He spent four years with the Bearcats and averaged double figures during his sophomore and junior seasons, shooting 38% and 36% from 3-point range during those years, as well. Arkansas shot just 31% as a team.

Davenport joins guards Keyon Menifield, Tramon Mark and Khalif Battle to call Arkansas home from the transfer portal in the offseason. Razorbacks guards Nick Smith Jr., Ricky Council, Devo Davis and Anthony Black have all declared for the NBA Draft. A fair chance remains for Davis to return to Fayetteville, but the other three are expected to keep their names in consideration.
