England went into its UEFA World Cup Qualifying match against Hungary knowing it would be facing a hostile crowd in Budapest. But it was plainly obvious that the Three Lions weren’t rattled.
After a scoreless first half, Raheem Sterling put England ahead with half-volley off a cross from Mason Mount in the 55th minute. Sterling reacted to the goal by removing his jersey — to reveal a tribute to Steffie Gregg, a Twitch streamer who died of COVID — and ran to the corner.
As he got there, though, the Hungary fans seated near the corner pelted the Manchester City star with drinks.
