Elijah Moore tweets apparent frustration over lack of targets in Week 6

Moore strangely saw zero targets (officially) in Week 6

The New York Jets are feeling elated after their 27-10 win at Lambeau Field over the Green Bay Packers. They’ve won three straight and sit at 4-2 and are feeling really good about themselves. Everyone is excited. Well…almost everyone. One key member of the offense seems to be not too thrilled with their lack of usage.

Lost in the shuffle of the big win over the Packers is the fact that wide receiver Elijah Moore saw a grand total of zero targets. (Technically he did have one that was negated by a penalty.) His usage was getting a bit lower of the last few weeks and perhaps, this was rock bottom, following two straight weeks with four targets in each game against the Steelers and Dolphins.

ESPN’s Rich Cimini made note of the zero targets for Moore, who then quote-tweeted Cimini saying “If I say what I really wanna say…I’ll be the selfish guy…we winning. Grateful! Huge blessing! All I ever wanted. Bitter sweet for me em but I’ll be solid. So I’ll just stay quiet. Just know I don’t understand either.”

Moore added he supports his teammates 100 percent.

It’s very understandable for Moore, who was thought to have a breakout season this year, to be upset over his lack of usage recently. But this was a game where the run game took precedence because the Packers have struggled to stop the run game and the Jets were rolling with Breece Hall. This shouldn’t turn into a Denzel Mims situation. Moore is too talented to keep off the field and out of the offensive involvement.

Moore’s time is likely coming. Perhaps this was just him getting out some pent-up frustration. Perhaps he gets back to see a handful of targets next week against the Broncos. Once the offense starts to spread itself out more and really start clicking, there should be plenty of room at the table for Moore.
