When retired New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning joined Twitter over the weekend, you knew it was just a matter of time before his personality and humor would shine through.
It took one day.
On Sunday, Peyton Manning and Tiger Woods squared off against Tom Brady and Phil Mickelson in “The Match: Champions for Charity at Medalist Golf Club,” which aimed to raise funds for COVID-19 relief efforts.
Manning and Woods ultimately walked away the winners, but it was really Eli who owned the day.
Throughout the rain-soaked contest, which featured relentless trash talk, Eli appeared to master Twitter. His tweets went viral and he essentially took over the entire platform.
Here are some of Eli’s best and funniest tweets:
Heard Peyton say he wants me to be his caddie. I would, but I can’t always carry the team. #FranksRedHotPartner #TweetSomeHeat

If that rain delay had gone longer, I was getting ready to join @tiktok_us to kill time.

Peyton is the better golfer, but I’m actually the better dancer … @obj can tell you. pic.twitter.com/5eLb1mSAdx

“Eli would have made that putt…” I’m Eli Manning, and I approve this heat. #FranksRedHotPartner #TweetSomeHeat

Great people, great banter, great(ish) golf … and amazing efforts for charity. What a huge success. So, can we do this again next weekend?

Today was all about charity (and fun) on the course. @FranksRedHot and I got into that spirit as well. Happy to work together to make donations to five great charities: @GuidingEyes, @TackleKidsCancr, @RobinHoodNYC, @UMMCnews, @MarchofDimes

If this type of material is any indication of what Manning is going to consistently bring to Twitter… well, then we all win.
