On top of glowing critical acclaim and record-shattering views, Elden Ring is currently the best-selling game of 2022.
According to NPD Group analyst Mat Piscatella, the action RPG phenomenon was February’s highest-selling game in North America, a stunning achievement considering Elden Ring came out when there were only four days left in the month. Call of Duty: Vanguard was the only title to have better first month sales within the past year. Any long-time FromSoftware fan will tell you how ludicrous that news would’ve come across even just a couple of years ago.
Not only that, but Elden Ring is also currently 2022’s biggest video game, outselling other heavy-hitters like Pokémon Legends: Arceus and Horizon Forbidden West overall.

In February, Elden Ring was also the top-selling game on both Steam and Xbox platforms, though Horizon Forbidden West did beat it out on PlayStation. Not too surprising since first-party Sony titles tend to outsell everything else on PS4 and PS5.
