Edgerrin Cooper talks with the host of ESPN’s “Out of Pocket” prior to taking on Ole Miss on Saturday

Edgerrin Cooper sat down with ESPN to give some insight on the Ole Miss game, Jimbo Fisher, and life outside of football

Texas A&M linebacker Edgerrin Cooper exploded onto the scene this year, playing at an All-American level, and the nation has taken notice. A few days ago, Cooper sat down with “Out of Pocket” host NFL veteran Takeo Spikes and seasoned sports anchor Alyssa Lang to discuss the upcoming game, among other things.

When asked about how last year’s loss helped them prepare for the game, Cooper mentioned that this is the most locked-in he’s seen they are ready to get the job done. Then, after a little football talk, they learned more about Cooper the person. One of the more interesting things that came out of the interview is his passion for Hog hunting as a way to get away from the grind of football.

This sit-down was a great display of his maturity and selflessness from the All-SEC linebacker leading this team to one of the more exciting defensive units in a while. As a team, the Aggies are ranked 2nd in the FBS with 33 sacks and 10th in defensive efficiency, and Cooper is tied for 3rd in the SEC with seven sacks.

Cooper is ready to get back on the field to show the nation that the defense will be ready this year and are locked in on what they need to do to be successful against Ole Miss.

Texas A&M will travel to Oxford (MS) to face the Ole Miss Rebels on Saturday, Nov. 5, where the game will again air on ESPN at 11:00 a.m. CT.
