Earlier this week, former Alabama football player Eddie Jackson officially became the highest paid safety in the NFL.

Earlier this week, former Alabama football player Eddie Jackson officially became the highest paid safety in the NFL.

Jackson and the Bears agreed to a 4 year extension worth $58.4 million. His deal is set for $22 million guaranteed and a $14.6 million yearly average which officially makes him the highest paid safety in the NFL. 

Jackson, who was drafted in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, has become a dominant leader for the Chicago Bears defense.

Jackson recorded 60 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 5  pass breakups, 2 interceptions, 1 forced fumble and 1 fumble recovery through 16 regular season games this year.
