Ed Oliver lashes out at authorities after DWI, weapon charges dropped

Buffalo Bills DT Ed Oliver had some choice words after the charges against him were dropped in Houston.

Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Ed Oliver has spoken and he had a lot to say.

Earlier this offseason, Oliver was pulled over and arrested for driving while intoxicated and unlawful possession of a weapon. But on Wednesday, both of those charges were dropped. According to reports, there was a lack of evidence to charge the 22-year-old because a blood test came back negative.

According to police records, another driver called 911 to report someone in a white pickup truck, who was swerving between lanes in a construction zone. When the police caught up, they found Oliver with an open beer between his legs. After a search of his vehicle, Montgomery County Police also discovered an unregistered pistol in the vehicle.

Despite the weapon still existing, it’s no longer illegal for Oliver to face that second charge unless he’s charged with “another criminal act” or if he was “intoxicated.”

And now, Oliver’s not too happy with the way things unfolded.

The former first-round pick of the Bills took to his social media account on Twitter shortly after the news of the charges being dropped. Not only was Oliver unhappy with the way police officers handled the situation, he disputes that he had the beer on him at all:
