Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Ed Oliver is already pumped up for his team’s defensive line in 2021.
Oliver, the Bills’ first-round pick in 2019, has always been a noted pass rusher from the middle of the defensive line. Veteran Jerry Hughes has been consistent on the edge off the D-line for Buffalo as well, but the team needed some help.
Enter Greg Rousseau and Boogie Basham.
The Bills used fhe first two of their eight selections at the recent 2021 NFL draft on those two pass rushers. A day after the draft concluded, Oliver approved:

Last season the Bills had 38 sacks as a team. That number landed right in the middle of NFL ranks, so essentially, Buffalo was average at getting to opposing quarterbacks. After watching other teams during the postseason, namely the Super Bowl champion Bucs, get after QBs during wins, it appears the Bills want to do the same.
Rousseau and Basham will still be rookies though, so perhaps they don’t have that instant impact Oliver hopes for. But there’s still good news: Star Lotulelei will be back.
That could be a big veteran addition to the pass rush after he opted out in 2020. Lotulelei doesn’t get after the quarterback himself, but he does take up blockers, allowing others to do so.
