Indianapolis Colts assistant general manager Ed Dodds withdrew his name from the general manager search ongoing by the Carolina Panthers.
Dodds was expected to interview during the upcoming week for the vacant job in Charlotte but in a somewhat surprising move, withdrew his name from the race on Sunday.
It isn’t clear what drove Dodds to make the decision, but the Colts will be extremely happy that their assistant general manager will be with them for another year.
Dodds has been integral in helping Chris Ballard build the roster and the culture in Indy over the last few seasons. It is not a surprise that he’s getting looks for general manager roles.
It will be interesting to see if any teams request to interview him for roles on their teams but for now, Dodds will stay with the Colts.
