The Gators clinched the SEC East on Saturday with a victory over the Volunteers on the road. But the 31-19 victory against a Tennessee squad that now falls to 2-6 on the season didn’t go a long way toward convincing the team’s naysayers.
Sure, on paper it was a solid game for the Gators, especially offensively, and garbage-time points made the final score much closer than it should have been. But Florida didn’t execute very well for the third-straight game, and that isn’t particularly confidence-instilling with a likely date with Alabama coming in two weeks.
