Eagles sign a veteran tight end ahead of matchup vs. Browns in Week 6

The Philadelphia Eagles have released Caden Sterns and signed C.J. Uzomah to the practice squad

The Eagles announced two practice squad moves on Thursday, releasing veteran safety Caden Sterns, and signing tight end C.J. Uzomah.

Philadelphia is preparing for a matchup against the Cleveland Browns, and are as healthy as they’ve been since training camp.

Uzomah was released by the Jets in March, saving the team about $5.3 million on their salary cap. The 31-year-old was scheduled to count $11.2 million against the Jets’ cap.

The veteran tight end was signed to a one-year deal back in April.
