Carson Wentz is the unquestioned leader of the Philadelphia Eagles, a top-10 quarterback, and thanks to a huge new contract extension, one of the world’s highest-paid athletes.
In a new ranking from Forbes, the Eagles star signal-caller landed at No. 10 on the list of highest-paid athletes for 2020.
Wentz was joined in the top-10 by the Vikings Kirk Cousins who landed at No. 9 on the list.
Jared Goff, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft was No. 15 on the list and those three were the only NFL players in the top-20.
Wentz and the Eagles agreed to a massive contract extension last summer worth $128 million over four years.
In the deal, Wentz received a $16.4 million signing bonus, as well as a $30 million option bonus paid to him in March 2020.
Wentz has endorsement deals with Nike, NRG, Bobcat, Amazon, Sanford Health, Bose, Scheels, and BlackRidge Bank per Forbes.
Wentz’s salary cap number jumps from $18.7 million in 2020 to more than $34 million in 2021 and stays above $31.2 million each of the subsequent three years, per OvertheCap.
