Eagles openly admitted that they have ‘expected more’ from struggling WR Jalen Reagor

They need Reagor to figure it out.

There are few names that will send Philadelphia Eagles fans into a fit of rage quicker than Jalen Reagor. The second-year receiver from TCU was taken 21st overall in the 2020 draft — one pick ahead of Vikings star receiver Justin Jefferson — and is already looking like a complete bust.

Reagor had just 31 receptions for 280 yards and two touchdowns in 2021, but on top of the underwhelming statistics, his game-changing mistakes — including two dropped touchdowns — stand out the most to Eagles fans. The Eagles share that disappointment as well.

In a press conference on Wednesday, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman openly admitted that they are looking for a huge step forward from Reagor next season. They made that expectation clear to the receiver in a face-to-face meeting. Via NBC Sports:

“Certainly, heading into year three, expected more from Jalen at this point. We had a chance to sit down with him after the season and had an honest conversation about the things that he needs to develop and the things that we can help him develop to continue his growth, in terms of learning from anything. We have to do that.”

Reagor had one reception for two yards in the Eagles’ Wild Card loss to the Bucs on Sunday. His muffed punt in the third quarter ultimately led to a Buccaneers touchdown.

But given the cap implications of parting ways with Reagor, the Eagles are going to need him to figure things out. He’s essentially unplayable as it stands.
