Eagles’ Marcus Mariota makes list of quarterbacks the Vikings could target at trade deadline

Eagles’ veteran Marcus Mariota makes a list of 11 quarterbacks the Vikings could target after Kirk Cousins suffered a torn Achilles

The Vikings could be in the market for a signal-caller after veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins suffered a torn Achilles in the fourth quarter of Minnesota’s 24-10 win over the Green Bay Packers in Week 8.

The Vikings have won three in a row and are looking forward to Justin Jefferson (hamstring) returning from injured reserve.

Kevin O’Connell’s team has multiple options in-house, as Jaren Hall replaced Cousins on the field Sunday afternoon and is the likely option moving forward. There is also Nick Mullens, who can return from injured reserve next week against the Atlanta Falcons.

Minnesota could go outside the organization for help, and Tyler Forness of The Vikings Wire believes Marcus Mariota could fit that need.

The second overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft, Mariota has seen plenty of things during his career. He has started 74 games including 13 for the Atlanta Falcons last season. Mariota is mobile but struggles to throw with anticipation and reading the field. He is 34-40 across his 74 starts with a 92:54 TD:INT ratio.

Eagles starting quarterback Jalen Hurts is nursing a sore knee, and if GM Howie Roseman made such a move, the team would be left with rookie signal-caller Tanner McKee as the primary backup.

Update:

Minnesota added their veteran quarterback, acquiring Joshua Dobbs from the Cardinals for a late-round pick.
