The Philadelphia Eagles will be without at least one starter against the New York Giants on Monday Night Football, and could be without at least three others when kickoff arrives.
After failing to clear league protocol, Philadelphia officially ruled linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill out for the Week 14 contest. Replacing Grugier-Hill will be rookie T.J. Edwards, who has recorded 17 tackles in 12 games this season.
Meanwhile, the Eagles also announced that wide receiver Nelson Agholor (knee), running back Jordan Howard (shoulder) and defensive end Derek Barnett (ankle) are all questionable.
Both Agholor and Barnett were unable to practice this week and head coach Doug Pederson said each player would be a game-time decision.
If Agholor is unable to play, Joshua Perkins will serve as the team’s fourth receiver behind Alshon Jeffery, Greg Ward and J.J. Arcega-Whiteside. And if Barnett is unable to go, Vinny Curry and Josh Sweat will share time as fill-ins.
Pederson seemed more optimistic about the status of Howard despite the fact that he still hasn’t been cleared for contact.
Finally, right tackle Lane Johnson missed his consecutive practices this week, but Pederson said that was not injury related and that Johnson will play against the Giants.
