Once again, people are asking why? Why did the Philadelphia 76ers let Jimmy Butler leave for the Miami Heat after just half a season in the City of Brotherly Love?
The Sixers let Butler go and they replaced him with Al Horford and Josh Richardson–who are fine players–and they were swept in Round 1 by the Boston Celtics. Meanwhile, Butler is leading the Heat to some big wins in the playoffs including another one on Tuesday night when he lifted the team to a 117-114 overtime win in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals over those same Celtics.
Philadelphia Eagles great Brian Westbrook was watching the game and he had some questions on Twitter. Like why did the Sixers let Butler go when it is clear that the team needed a closer and a leader?
Remind me one more time why the @sixers let JIMMY BUCKETS leave Philly !!

The Sixers are still a talented team. Led by Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid, the team can easily bounce back with everybody healthy just because of how great those two young players are. However, it is clear that they are missing Butler’s presence at this moment in time. [lawrence-related id=37679,37673,37670]
