The offseason continues to build new storylines for the Kansas City Chiefs 2023 regular season. The team prepares to defend its title with plenty of opponents lining up to stake their claims early, but their Super Bowl LVII opponents are still reflecting on their missed opportunity.

Philadelphia Eagles veteran defensive end Brandon Graham may have added his name to the bulletin board material for the Chiefs heading into the 2023 regular season. During a recent interview on the Philadelphia-based show Sports Take with Derrick Gunn & Rob Ellis, Graham sounded off on his reasons for the Eagles’ missing pass rush, saying the K.C. O-Line benefited from the slippery playing surface.

“You need that traction to be able to get off the block and we were slipping a lot,” said Graham. “I mean, I don’t make excuses. I just know that that’s what was being talked about, us trying to get out of our own head a little bit, too. We had a good, I’m telling you that O-line, they got blessed, I’ll say that.”

The turf was often discussed as an issue for both teams following the game, as it was apparent that players were struggling with their footing throughout.

“We looked at the film, man; it was a couple of times where it was if Sweaty (Josh Sweat) doesn’t slip, boy, strip sack, Oh my God, especially that first drive when he threw it across the middle to Kelce. He was right there. He slipped. We could not believe it.” said Graham. “Credit to Kansas City. It’s all love; you know what I’m saying. Them boys played too; they played on that surface too.”

Graham’s comments are respectable regarding the field conditions, but the Chiefs’ offensive line members will have their thoughts during their regular season matchup in Kansas City.
